Mark Chewter
Mark has been a Partner of CSL since November 1998. During his time with CSL, Mark has worked with clients in industries as diverse as retail, tourism, distribution, manufacturing, agribusiness and Internet applications. Mark has concluded many buy side and sell side mandates, raising equity, raising debt, restructuring balance sheets for private and listed companies.
Before joining CSL, Mark worked for 12 years in the equity research and sales divisions of such leading international investment banks as Union Bank of Switzerland, Swiss Bank Corporation and Deutsche Bank and has been stationed in Thailand, Singapore and the United Kingdom. His experience has afforded him an understanding of the requirements of international investors in both mature and emerging markets.
Mark's notable clients have included Cobra International, the largest manufacturer of windsurf and surf boards in the world, ItalCementi, a global cement manufacturer, Hoteltravel.com, an online travel agency which Mark represented in its sale to MakeMyTrip, a Nasdaq-listed travel company, and FoodbyPhone, which Mark represented in its sale to FoodPanda, part of the German internet business incubator Rocket Internet. Mark has recently completed a 4-year project as CFO at Jim Thompson, the internationally renowned Thai silk company, and was also CFO of Psydle Asia, a restaurant management company. Today, Mark is CFO at SpiceRoads, Asia's largest specialist bicycle adventure company, and at Panpuri, Thailand’s leading natural, organic beauty and spa products company and spa operator.
Mark holds an MA (Hons) from Oxford University in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, specialising in company economics. He is a Fellow Member of the Thai Institute of Directors and has served variously as Director, as Chairman and as Audit Committee Chairman. He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and undertakes arbitration work.
Mark is married with 2 children, is a committed Chelsea fan and a reluctant
tri-athlete.
